Just one day before the premiere of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, Marvel Studios has released the final trailer revealing major plot twists and character appearances.. As if social networks weren’t already a danger for spoilers, Marvel has taken it upon themselves to make one last revelation, so don’t keep reading if you don’t want to know anything.
This article contains plot details for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’
As we already knew, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will have to face the consequences of what happened both in ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’, as in ‘Loki’, as in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. The result is a multiverse unleashed, the origin of which was clarified by the mastermind of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige. To do this, the former Sorcerer Supreme must team up with old and new allies, including the Illuminati, revealed in previous previews.
The new and final trailer for ‘Doctor Strange 2’ shows us a recapitulation of the entire history of Stephen Strange himself and Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Universe, that is, his appearances in installments such as ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Doctor Strange (Doctor Strange)’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ or ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’. Towards the end of the trailer, though, we’re treated to new footage we haven’t seen before: scenes of combat and sorcery, including a brief fight sequence between Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Hayley Atwell’s live-action version of Captain Carter, featured in the animated series ‘What If…?’.
This revelation would be added to that of Patrick Stewart’s UCM debut as a variant of Professor X from Fox’s X-Men movies and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a true key player in the comic book universe. The jump to the big screen of Captain Carter as well as the Strange zombie version that we can see in the trailer means that we can expect the inclusion of practically any element, which leaves everything open for surprise. For now, with this confrontation we can guess that Wanda will be a heroine but also a villain in the same film by fighting possible members of the Illuminati.
Out of sight…
The aforementioned head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has stated that the footage shown in the trailers of ‘Doctor Strange 2’ is too much. It has been at the world premiere of the film where Feige has expressed his disagreement with what was shown and has also praised Sam Raimi’s work with 3D.
“There’s been too much in the trailers, I don’t want to talk about anything else. But I will say that Raimi has made the film to be experienced on the biggest screen possible, and it is the first in a long time where 3D has really been taken into account. Because the first ‘Doctor Strange’ movie was our best 3D movie, and this one will match it”explained the producer.
The wait is over because ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ opens in theaters on Friday, May 6. You can now read our review.
