Tobey Maguire in 'Spider-Man 3'

With the premiere of ‘Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness’, Sam Raimi ends his return to Marvel after Sony cut him off from the plans he had for ‘Spider-Man 4’ a few years ago. The reboot that carried out the franchise to start a new journey with Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker He deprived us of seeing a new installment with Raimi at the controls and Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.

The reasons why Sony made this decision have been widely discussed and speculated. One of the most important was, of course, the poor results that ‘Spider-Man 3’ garnered at the critical level. Although its first two installments are widely considered to be two of the best superhero movies of all time, the part that closed the trilogy met with various factors that made her have a worse reception, such as an excess of villains or Parker’s conversion when obtaining the symbiote.

Of all the ‘Spider-Man 3’ scenes, there is one in particular that stands out for being very iconic today, but which was once the subject of harsh criticism and ridicule: the dance of Peter Parker in a suit. In an interview with fandom, Raimi has made reference to said scene alleging that they were looking for ridicule voluntarily. “Well, we wanted it to be fun, actually. It was Peter Parker’s version, this pathetic kid, of what his evil self must be.. But he is so clueless. He is so out of his mind that that is the view of him. And that was not well received by the audience. But that’s what we were trying to do. So I’m not surprised that people… I’m glad people find it funny! we wanted it to be fun“.

Fourth parts yes they were good

Although Raimi has directed the sequel to ‘Doctor Strange (Doctor Strange)’, has not closed the door on the superhero to whom he dedicated three films, suggesting that a ‘Spider-Man 4’ with Maguire and Kirsten Dunst could be fine. This new collaboration between Marvel and Raimi seems to have started to pay off both at the box office and critically, but only time will tell if this second part of their particular relationship with Marvel will continue into the future or is just a fleeting reconciliation.
