Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen opens up about the influence of her work at Marvel and how it has ruined part of her career.

Elizabeth Olsen said that being part of Marvel Studios has kept her from other roles, it has ruined part of her film career. In fact, it has caused her to lose roles that she enjoyed as a spectator. “The role of Scarlet Witch has taken me away from the physical ability to do certain jobs,” acknowledged the Hollywood star. “Works that she believed were more aligned with the things that she enjoyed when she was in the public eye.”
One example he gave was related to Locust (2015), the movie Yorgos Lanthimos starring Colin Farrell, Rachel Weiss, Jessica Barden Y Olivia Coleman, among others. Elizabeth Olsen explained the anguish she felt at having to turn down that role due to a Marvel Studios contract that she couldn’t get out of. Elizabeth Olsen said losing a role like that left her frustrated. She felt some job security, but she was missing out on opportunities that were closer to her identity. “She had this job security, but at the same time she was losing roles that she felt were more of a part of me,” admitted the actress who gives life to Wanda Maximoff at Marvel Studios. “And the further away I got from that, the less I was considered for it.”

However, all of this is not to say that Elizabeth Olsen would never want to return to the Marvel Studios franchise to play Scarlet Witch. When she was asked about appearing in a solo movie as Wanda Maximoff, she said that she would. But she also asked for it to be a good story.
“It has to have a really good story,” asked Elizabeth Olsen about her future at Marvel Studios. “I think these movies are best when it comes to not just creating content, but having a very powerful point of view. You don’t have to do them because you need to have a three-movie plan.”
