“In an update on the painful case of Debanhi Susana Escobar Bazaldúa, which occurred in Escobedo, Nuevo León, we inform that yesterday, we had a meeting on the instructions of the President of the Republic with the Attorney General of the State of Nuevo León, the government of Nuevo León, the Executive Commission for Attention to Victims (CEAV), and Debanhi’s parents, Don Mario Escobar, and Doña Dolores Bazaldúa where it was agreed that the judicial request for the exhumation of Debanhi’s body be carried out on June 30, “he said.
Mejía assured that the exhumation will allow a group of medical experts to analyze it for later homologate the forensic opinions already practiced.
He assured that the decision was agreed upon at a meeting in which the parents of the young woman and the Interinstitutional Group in charge of the case.
During the morning conference from the National Palace, Mejía explained that it will be until that day because the international forensic expert tested positive for Covid. He assured that the manager has already been studying the case and that he will return to Mexico for exhumation.
