Historian Lorenzo Meyer highlighted certain aspects of Benito Juárez for the 150th anniversary of his death. According to Meyer, Juarez had to create Mexico as a nation, as well as the defense of the country against the outside, denying including the French empire. Meyer stressed that the commemoration of him allows us to recognize the past of Mexico.
