Coach of the Mexican U-20 women's team suspended

Maribel Dominguez was suspended from her position as technical director of the Mexican U-20 women’s teamdue to the initiation of an investigation in accordance with the established internal protocols of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF).

In a statement, the FMF reported that the entire coaching staff accompanying Maribel Domínguez was also suspended, days before the World Cup to be held in Costa Rica.

The inquiry arises after a request for research and forsupport this process and ensure their impartialitythe coaching staff of this team has been temporarily suspended.

The technical director of the Mexican U-17 women’s team, Ana Galindo, was assigned as the coach of the U-20 teamso it is expected to be the one to take the helm at the World Cup in Costa Rica that will take place from August 10 to 28.

The Mexican U-20 women’s team will face their peers from Germany, Colombia and New Zealand, from group B.
