In an interview for Aristegui en Vivo, Dr. Francisco Moreno, Infectologist at the ABC Medical Center, highlighted that not all deaths from Covid-19 in the fifth wave are due to not being vaccinated. He pointed out that it is a risk for patients with immunological diseases to whom the vaccines do not have the same effect. There are treatments such as Paxlovid, approved in Mexico by Cofepris, that could help in its treatment; however, as it is an emergency biological, the bureaucratic procedures to access it reduce the patient’s recovery.
