Bull that reaches, wins…
The Red Bull drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, staged this Sunday a great reaction in the Hungaroring Circuitafter starting in tenth and eleventh place, to finish in first and fifth place in the Hungarian Grand Prix, thirteenth calendar date 2022 of the Formula 1.
Then a classification to forget, Verstappen and Perez Mendoza were the protagonists of the day with a spectacular comebackfacilitated by another grotesque Ferrari strategy that prevented its drivers from Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz fight for victory, staying out of the podium.
While, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who started in pole position, were located in second and third place; while, Sainz Jr (Ferrari) came in fourth place, followed by Perez Mendoza and Leclerc on the sixth step.
In this way, ‘Mad Max’ increases his distance on Leclerc in the fight for the title, after being the dominator of the race from the last third of it, when he triumphed after three crazy laps, in which he even spun.
Leclerc was harmed by putting hard tires, that hadn’t worked on this track, at his second stop, forcing him to make a third pit-stop and put on soft tires.
Sadness and frustration for the Italian teamquite the opposite of Mercedes, who celebrates for the second consecutive race a new double on the podium, with Hamilton and Russellsecond and third, respectively.
🗣 “Strategy played a big part in our victory. We were due to start on the hard tire but switched things up as a result of the ambient conditions.”
