The three directors are also nominated for Best Direction, along with Ernesto Contreras for Impossible things and Angeles Cruz, for Mixtec knot.
In the category for Best Film, the nominated titles are Impossible Things, Night of Fire, A Cop Movie, With The Other Tom and Mixtec knot.
In the category of Best Actress are Ana Cristina Ordoñez, for Fire night; Ilse Salas, for Cathedral Square; Monica del Carmen, for A Police Movie; Nora Velazquez, in Impossible things; Y Sylvia Pasquel by The Devil between the Legs.
While Alejandro Suárez appears in the category for Best Actor, for The Devil between the Legs; Benny Emmanuel, by Impossible things; Leonardo Ortizgris, by The Black Minutes; Noah Hernandez, in Knot Mixtec; and Raul Briones in A Police Movie.
Other nominees include Daniel Giménez Cacho, for his co-performance in The Devil between the Legs. In total, the Ariel awards have 24 categories, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Documentary, Best Short, Best Original Music and Best Ibero-American Film.
