Sonora Grill denies racist practices at Polanco branch;  this is what you should know about the case

Through a statement, the company flatly denied any racist or discriminatory practice in its establishments.

What was the accusation against Sonora Grill?

In networks, the complaint went viral indicating that in this restaurant discriminates against customers based on their physical appearance and skin color.

Account Horror Restaurants Mexicospread on Twitter the complaints that came to them, presumably from employees and former employees.

The account stated that there are practices of labor exploitation, tip theft, harassment, dangerous handling of food and racial segregation.

For its part, since the complaint, to Sonora Grill, the Council to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination of Mexico City (Copred) opened a complaint file for alleged racist behavior in its restaurant located in the luxury neighborhood of the mayor Miguel Hidalgo.

The capital body to prevent and eliminate discrimination assured that the matter will be addressed in terms of the Law to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination of Mexico City with the aim of implementing measures of non-repetition.
