Drunk man runs over 15 people parading in New Mexico |  video

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated during a Native American parade in New Mexico on Thursday night, injuring 15 people, according to a media and police report.

Jeff Irving He was driving with a revoked license due to a prior drunk driving offense and faces multiple charges related to Thursday’s incident, which took place in Gallup, reported a local news station that had access to the criminal complaint against the suspect.

Multiple witnesses testified to local media that a tan van went through the paradeand charged the artists and children who paraded.

Between the Two policemen were injured in the incident. Gallup, the New Mexico State Police said in a tweet.

Police did not say whether they suspected the driver intentionally collided with people or thought he was impaired and unaware they were there. Videos taken by bystanders showed a large brown sport utility vehicle speeding through Gallup’s Intertribal Ceremonial Parade as dancers and spectators dispersed.

Police and city officials did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment.
