Explosion at cartridge factory in Morelos leaves 6 injured

At least 6 people were injured in an explosion occurred inside an Industrias Tecnos factory located on the Cuernavaca-Tepoztlán federal highway in the town of Ahuatepec, Morelos, reported the State Civil Protection Coordination.

According to a statement from the Morelos government, at 12:40 p.m. this Fridaythrough the 911 emergency numbers of the Coordination, Command, Control, Communications and Computing Center (C5), the explosion was reported inside Industrias Tecnos.

For this reason, personnel from the Emergency and Disaster Attention Directorate went to the area and, after carrying out the corresponding action protocols, confirmed that the explosion was recorded on line 22 of assembly and mixing of explosive cartridges.

As a result of this incident, six injured people are reported, of which two were treated at the facilities and four were transferred to a hospital of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) for assessment and pertinent follow-up.

The governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, reported on social networks that his work team is already caring for those affected and their families.

In the place, actions were coordinated with elements of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), National Guard (GN), State Public Security Commission (CES), Rescue Squad and Medical Emergencies (ERUM), Red Cross Morelos delegation, Protection Civil and Firefighters of Cuernavaca.
