TikTok will introduce a new feature which allows artists and content creators “selected” put up for sale on the platform the concert and show tickets.
ByteDance’s proprietary platform has been associated with Ticketmaster to create this option so that users can buy tickets through it.
For now, this feature would only be available to “selected” creators, though it will be expanded to more users over time. In this way, the eligible artists they can add a link in their videos that redirects the user to Ticketmaster.
Once these creators have shared your video, the event link will be displayed at the bottom leftfor the ones spectators can click and purchase tickets through a browser in the app.
Ticketmaster reported that with this partnership, it hopes that event organizers and creators will be able to reach their potential customers in a different way.
For the time being, groups and artists have registered for this initiative, such as Demi lovato, One Republic, Usher, Backstreet Boys and the World WrestlingEntertainment (WWE), among others.
ByteDance issued a registration application late last month for a patent for TikTok Musica service that will offer users the possibility to “buy, play, share and download music, songs, albums and lyrics”, according to the description of this document.
This is not TicketMaster’s first foray into the social media industry. In February of this year, the company allied with snapchat to launch Ticketmatcher.
