Placido Domingo returns to Mexico

the tenor Placido Domingo announced that he will resume his presentations in Mexico with a tour of two concerts in Mexico City and Monterrey, on August 16 and 19 at 9:00 p.m.

“The time has come to see each other again, dear friends from Mexico. I am very happy to return to Aztec land with a tour of two concerts to share, once again, our love for music” declared Plácido Domingo in a video posted on his Twitter account, with which he announced the dates and places of his tour.

These concerts were rescheduled from February to August due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections.

The Mexico City Arena reported that people who have purchased their tickets for the initial dates will be able to use them to attend the concerts in August.

The tour features an operatic repertoire, romances and zarzuela duets, as well as Mexican songs.

He will be accompanied by the Mexican soprano Eugenia Garza, the Sonoran tenor Arturo Chacón Cruzwho returns to Mexico after three years, and the Coahuila Desert Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Kohn.
