Salman Rushdie's Attacker Charged With Attempted Murder;  Hezbollah denies knowledge of the assault


Hadhi Matarthe suspect in attacking novelist Salman Rushdie on Friday, was charged with attempted murder and assaultreported the US prosecutor’s office this Saturday.

“The person responsible for yesterday’s attack, Hadi Matar, has now been formally charged with attempted second degree murder and assault in the second degree,” said Jason Schmidt, district attorney for Chautauqua County in New York.
