Xiaomi tests 140 autonomous vehicles in China

Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, announced that his company conducts tests of autonomous driving in 140 vehicles throughout China.

The team, made up of more than 500 members, has been working for 500 days to develop the product.

Also, Jun assured that he plans invest 3.3 billion yuan (more than 9 thousand 704 million Mexican pesos) in the first phase of the project

“Our Xiaomi Pilot Test vehicle has achieved a safe and smooth driving experience in various conditions. Check out the video below to see some of my favorite demos!” Lei Jun commented through her Twitter account.

In addition, it undertook to develop its own full-stack algorithm with the goal of converting to Xiaomi an industry leader by 2024.

This development of the company adds to CyberOne, the first humanoid robot capable of identifying types of voices, emotions and sounds. Both projects were unveiled at Lei Jun’s annual speech.
