Faculty of Chemistry inaugurates its first neutral bathroom |  Video

The Faculty of Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) inaugurated its first neutral bathroom with the aim of enabling a health space that starts from the recognition and respect for gender diversity.

Paulina Trapagá, coordinator of the gender unit of the Faculty of Chemistry, explained that a neutral bathroom is a public health space with free access for people who belong to the gender-diverse community or who live gender identity from diversity.

The end of this space It is located on the ground floor of building ‘B’ in front of the Newspaper Library, is to create an environment of non-discrimination and zero violence for the LGBTIQ+ community, as it is a safe place for them to feel included, included, included and of course, based on respect for their gender identity.

Trapagá indicated that to create these bathrooms “adaptations and modifications were made to enable this neutral sanitary space, which corresponds to putting doors in the urinals to facilitate 6 private cubicles of 3 for WCs and three for urinals.”
