The National Water Commission (Conagua) reported that Tropical Wave Number 23, which will move over the south and center of the country, will cause heavy rains in some states of the country this Saturday.

In the case of Chihuahua, Oaxaca, Puebla, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tamaulipas and Veracruz, it is expected intense punctual rains; while in places in Mexico City, Colima, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Tlaxcala, they will be very heavy rains.

“The rains may be accompanied by electric shocks, strong gusts of wind and hail fall,” the commission reported.

He stressed that in the event that wind gusts of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves of 1 to 3 meters high on the coast of Tamaulipas and Veracruz, as well as wind with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h in Coahuila and Nuevo León, as well as on the coasts of Campeche, Tabasco and Yucatán.

Germán A. Martínez Santoyo, Director General of the National Water Commission, reported that it is expected Potential Tropical Cyclone Four make landfall this Saturday afternoon or evening.

According to the Conagua report, at 7:00 a.m. on August 20, it was located approximately 185 kilometers (km) east-southeast of La Pesca, Tamaulipas, and 325 km south-southeast of the mouth of Rio Grande on the border of Mexico with the United States.
