Segob, Security Cabinet and Delgado cancel meetings with senators from Morena

Morena’s bench in the Senate of the Republic holds its plenary session before the start of the regular session, with the absence of previously announced key figures from the federal government and in the absence of agreement on who will chair the Board of Directors.

Mario Delgado, national president of Morena, reported that he will not attend the meeting, so his absence was used to schedule a debate on the organization of the caucus, waiting to reach an agreement on the Board of Directors.

It had previously been reported that the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, would not attend the meetingalthough it was scheduled and he did go to the meeting organized by the bench in the Chamber of Deputies.

At 4:00 in the afternoon a “Work table with the security cabinet” was scheduled; the first to cancel was the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval.

Shortly after 3:00 in the afternoon, the absence of Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, was confirmed; and General Luis Rodríguez Bucio, commander of the National Guard.

It was reported that Ricardo Mejía Berdeja, undersecretary of Public Security, did arrive at the Casona de Xicoténcatl.

The morenistas have not reached an agreement to define who will head the Board of Directors.

Today the main candidates met: José Narro Céspedes, Higinio Martínez and Alejandro Armenta with the coordinator Ricardo Monreal to try to reach a consensus and achieve unity, reported the bench itself.

However, if an agreement is not reached, a vote will be held with the presence of a notary public, Monreal said.

This Tuesday, Morena’s bench in the Senate of the Republic received Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who explained the federal government’s policies on Foreign Relations.

In the afternoon, the Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, arrived, who said that Mexico will not leave the trade agreement with the United States and Canada (T-MEC).
