Queen Elizabeth will break tradition; she will appoint the new British prime minister in Buckingham

The Foreign Minister, Liz Truss, who was listed as the favorite in the final battle against the former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak will be the next leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, replacing Boris Johnson.

Truss proposed as his star measure, in case of winning, a £30k package of tax cuts by the end of the month, arguing that the UK tax burden is behind slow growth in the country.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the winner will be formally designated by Queen Elizabeth II, who he broke tradition by convening said meeting at his residence in Balmoral instead of Buckingham Palace.

Elizabeth II’s meeting is a breach of protocol in the British crown, since the monarch has been prevented from traveling back to England due to health problems, so the transfer of powers will take place for the first time in Scotland.

The militants of the Conservative Party concluded the Friday the voting process to choose the replacement for the current British ‘premier’, Boris Johnson, who has already made accounts of the millionaire businesses in which he hopes to embark after leaving office.

The current prime minister does not rule out returning to politics, although for now he “intends” to give his full support to the person who succeeds him and his team.
