First reactions to ‘Daggers in the back 2: The mystery of Glass Onion’

The first critics of ‘Daggers in the back: The mystery of Glass Onion’also known as ‘Daggers in the back 2’, have already come to light and are overwhelmingly positive.

The sequel will see Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc to investigate a new murder mystery with a new cast of characters.

Set in Greece‘Stabs in the Back 2’ follows the new group as a tech billionaire named Miles, played by Edward Nortontakes them to a private island.

As is the case with any murder mystery, one of the new gang members turns up dead and Blanc will have to get to the bottom of it.

So far, ‘Backstabbing 2’ has one perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after 8 reviews.

Among reviews, Screen International (Wendy Ide) calls it “an immensely enjoyable film that is at least as fun as the first, if not more“.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the film “offers more action, more delightful mysteries, edgier design and some genuinely amazing cameos“.

In particular, reviews praised director and writer Rian Johnson; Chris Evangelista of Slash Film said: “Rian Johnson outdoes himself with Glass Onion“.

“It’s so much fun to see Johnson in this mode,” Collider’s Ross Bonaime wrote.

“A relentlessly funny and playful cast. With Glass Onion, Johnson proves to be a cinematic disruptor of the highest order“, he added.

“In Glass Onion, the filmmaker shows absolute mastery of his genre and his craft. It’s pure pop pleasure“said Jason Bailey of The Playlist.

Joining Edward Norton in the star-studded cast are Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, and Kate Hudson.
