The governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, reported that many of the public health centers and hospitals that were damaged by the September 19 earthquake are 30 or more years old. The local president reported that 21 hospitals reported damage, but the most serious were recorded in the Aquila community hospital, which was rendered unusable.
