SPOILERS FOR 1×05 OF ‘THE HOUSE OF THE DRAGON’
The end of chapter 5 of ‘The House of the Dragon’ left us with a big question: Does King Viserys die at the end of episode 5 of ‘The House of the Dragon’? Well, it seems that the preview of the next episode has the answer.
HBO has revealed the trailer for the sixth chapter of the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ confirming, in passing, several things: First, that we will experience a time jump again, specifically 10 years, and that Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke will debut in the series playing the adult versions of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower.. And second, that Viserys is still alive after collapsing at the end of the previous chapter and despite his obvious health problems, because we can see him at various times in advance.
The trailer also introduces us to new versions of members of the royal family, including the Prince Aegon, the eldest son of Viserys who appears to be preparing to challenge his half-sister’s claim to the Iron Throne. We also see that Prince Daemon, after murdering his wife Lady Rhea Royce and failing in his last attempt to conquer Rhaenyra, has remarried, and to none other than a Velaryon, Lady Laena, who we remember that it was offered to Viserys when he was only 12 years old.
On September 25 we will surely see the beginning of the end. The tensions in the palace are increasing in each episode of ‘The House of the Dragon’ between Queen Alicent and Princess Rhaenyra, and the dragons seem to gain more prominence. The Dance of Dragons is getting closer.
