Survey points to support for the armed forces in security

A telephone survey indicates that the majority of the population trusts the army to take charge of public security tasks, above the municipal and state police.

The De Las Heras Demotecnia exercise says that 61 percent of the population feels calmer when they see soldiers patrolling the streets.

The population is divided when asked if the participation of the army has improved security: 46 percent affirm that it has improved or remains the same, while 43 percent are in the bloc that it has worsened or is just as bad.

In the exercise, 59 percent of the population considers that the permanence of the Army in security tasks until 2028 would help a lot, in line with the proposal presented by the PRI and defended by President López Obrador.
