A military van escorting the governor of Colima, Indira Vizcaino Silva, overturned while driving on a road near Manchineel.
The State Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace and Security reported that the vehicle that was traveling in the convoy that accompanies the president suffered the accident in the Manzanillo-Minatitlan highway this Friday morning.
The accident car belongs toto Secretary of the Navy (Semar), as well as the affected elements. The Colima government detailed that there were no other vehicles involved.
In their statement, the authorities reported that the agents who were traveling aboard the damaged unit were treated by medical services and none have serious injuries.
So far the reason for the accident has not been revealed. However, the corresponding institutions are talking with the agents to determine the causes and to take the pertinent measures to avoid new incidents, the state government clarified.
