John Anistonactor on the series ‘Days of our lives’ and father of ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston, has died at the age of 89.
Actress Jennifer Aniston has said goodbye to her father in an emotional tribute through Instagram: “You were one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met. I am very grateful that you have ascended to heaven in peace and without pain. And 11/11 no less! You always had the perfect moment. That number will always have even greater meaning to me now. I will love you until the end of time.”

Born on the island of Crete, Greece, on July 24, 1933, John moved with his family to the United States when he was only two years old. After a stint in the Navy, John began his acting career in 1962 in a small role on the series ‘New Man in the Precinct,’ and began appearing regularly on soap operas in 1970. In 1985, he took on what would be his signature role with a return to ‘Days of Our Lives.‘, this time as a new character named Victor Kiriakisa role he would continue to play until last year. He was nominated for the Emmy Awards in 2017 Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance.
‘Days of our lives‘ is one of the longest-running series in television history, with more than 57 years on the air and more than 14,500 episodes aired (no, I have not slipped any zero more). John Aniston participated in 2,383 of them. The soap opera also inspired ‘The days of our lives’, the series in which Joey, Matt LeBlanc’s character in ‘Friends’, played Dr. Drake Ramoray.
