For the posadas: They produce piñatas by Gerardo 'Tata' Martino

Artisans from the municipality of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, put together a pinata inspired by the former technical director of the Mexican National Team, Gerardo “Tata” Martino.

Images circulated on social networks where you can see the piñata of the former “Tricolor” coach with fake bills attached to his body and an Argentine flag in the strategist’s hand.

The design was the work of Piñatería Ramirez, located in Tamaulipas, which promoted the figure with the following message: “Piñata dedicated to the Mafiosa Mexican Soccer Federation. Mexican team, the #1 in making commercials”.

The passage of “Tata” Martino through the Mexican National Team caused annoyance among Mexican fans after he lost the Gold Cup final in 2021 against the United States. Likewise, the presentation of the “Tricolor” at the World Cup in Qatar 2022 did not meet the expectations of the compatriots.

The project of the National Team of “Tata” Martino the World Cup was only enough to get 4 points, after drawing zero in the first game against Poland, losing 2-0 against Argentina, and beating Saudi Arabia 2-1. The sum of the points and the goal difference meant that Mexico did not qualify for the round of 16.

At the end of the game against Saudi Arabia and when the elimination of Mexico in the World Cup in Qatar was made known, the Argentine Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, coach of Mexico, acknowledged that his contract with the ‘tri’ “expired when the referee whistled the end” and was consummated “the big flop” of being eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
