Russia and Ukraine exchange 60 prisoners of war


Russia and Ukraine exchanged, this Tuesday, 60 prisoners of war from each side, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry and the Ukrainian Presidential Office.

“As a result of negotiations, 60 Russian soldiers, whose life was in danger in captivitywere returned from kyiv-controlled territory,” said the department headed by Sergei Shoigu.

According to the official Russian communiqué, those released will be taken in military transport planes from the Russian Aerospace Forces to Moscow.

In the Russian capital they will receive treatment, rehabilitation and psychological assistance in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defence, noted the Russian command.

For his part, the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, pointed out in his Telegram account that among the exchanged prisoners there are “58 men and two women”.

Yermak added that among the prisoners exchanged today are 34 defenders of the Russian-occupied Azov Sea city of Mariupol, 14 of them from the Azovstal steel works.
