The President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ensured that for 2024 presidential election there will be no covers or fingers, while he described Adán Augusto López, Marcelo Ebrard and Claudia Sheinbaum as his ‘brothers’.
The president stressed during the morning press conference that each of the three officials has their own characteristics and personal style, but they agree on “the need to promote the transformation of Mexico.”
“Those who can replace me, those who are most visible, those who are talked about the most, are people with a lot of experience in politics and public administration,” AMLO declared.
He claimed that the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López He is “very competent” and “is trained”, while reiterating that he has been a legislator and governor.
He also recognized the trajectory of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, who has been a legislator and head of government of the capital.
Finally, he added to the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaumto the list, who has also been the head of the delegation.
Likewise, López Obrador insisted that “there are no covers and there is no finger.” Instead, he maintained that a survey will be carried out to define the presidential candidate of Morena. In it, he added, Mexicans will be asked if they know the possible candidates, as well as to express their opinion about them and decide which one they would prefer.
“I’m going to support whoever wins the polls,” he said.
