Aleksander Ceferin will run unopposed for a third UEFA term


Alexander CeferinPresident of UEFA, is the only candidate for presidential election of the governing body of European soccer, scheduled for its April congress, the confederation announced this Friday.

UEFA had previously announced that Ceferin, a Slovenian lawyer, would appear for a third term as president. Ceferin, 55, was re-elected unopposed to a four-year term in 2019.

Ceferin, seventh president of UEFA in 2016, came to replace the former French international michel platiniwho was ousted from the soccer administration at the end of 2015 for ethics violations and forced to leave UEFA after losing an appeal against the ban.
