A cable partially detached at the platform of the Salto del Agua station, on Line 8 of the Metro.
Users of the public transportation system uploaded photos and videos of the malfunction, which delayed the arrival of trains.
The event occurred one day after the train crash on Line 3, which left one person dead and more than 100 injured.
In one of the videos, an official can be seen trying to take the cable to remove it from the rail area:
The Metro Collective Transportation System appointed Francisco Echavarri Hernández as Deputy Director General of Metro Operations.
Earlier, the departure of Alberto García Lucio was reported, as part of the investigations into the accident on Line 3.
Francisco Echavarri Hernández is an Industrial Engineer from the National Polytechnic Institute and Master in Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
He has diplomas in International Transportation from the Engineering Division and in Public Administration, both from UNAM.
The government highlighted that it has 35 years of experience in the Mexico City Metro in areas of operation, transportation, and project coordination.
He has served as Operations Manager of Alstom Panama and advisor to international consulting companies in engineering and underground systems.
