Ari Aster, a cult filmmaker thanks to titles like ‘Hereditary’ or ‘Midsommar’, is back with another proposal as unexpected as it is attractive. ‘Beau is Afraid’, the final title of the project formerly known as ‘Disappointment Blvd.’, debuts its first trailer with a fearful Joaquin Phoenix:
The actor becomes a man who simply goes to see his mother. However, on the way he is run over by a couple (Nathan Lane and Amy Ryan). They take him to his house and hold him against his will. What will come is, according to the synopsis, “an epic adventure” that will be, how could it be otherwise, “daring and depraved”.
