Moisés Sánchez was assassinated in 2015 after being violently abducted from his home, where his wife and grandchildren were. His body was found days later, however, eight years after his murder, the Mexican authorities have not given his family access to justice or reparation for damages. His son, Jorge Sánchez, told Aristegui Noticias that along with relatives of other murdered journalists they have realized that the authorities have no intention of solving their problem, so they have decided to take the case, together with Article 19, until the IACHR.
