Amid rumors of a possible live action adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Childstar Rupert Grint spoke of his possible return.
albeit hHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 2011 capped off the story of Harry and his friends in a satisfying way, Warner still has interest in returning to the franchise.
Although the films of fantastic animals have not lived up to expectations, there have been rumors that there are plans to make a ninth installment of Harry Potter, and adapt Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to live action. Interestingly, the current plan for the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslavand movie executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy is “go hard” after a film adaptation.
Now, one of the stars that formed the leading trio of the Harry Potter franchise has revealed if he would return to the role that made him famous.
This is Rupert Grint’s opinion
Talking with this morningactor Rupert Grint was asked if he would play Ron again in a future Harry Potter installment.
Grint said he would agree to come back “if the time was right” noting that Ron Weasley’s character is “important” for him and what is “quite protective” of the character:
“Yeah, I think if the timing was right and everyone came back, I would definitely visit again. He is a character that is important to me. I grew up with him and we became the same person. I also feel quite protective of him.”
This isn’t the first time Grint has broached the possibility of reprising the role of Ron Weasley. In an interview on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Grint mentioned that:
“I really can’t think of a reason not to. I love that character, I love that world. It’s a big part of my life. I feel this kind of ownership of Ron in a strange way.”
However, the actor also noted that he would only be interested in returning to the Wizarding World if Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson joined him.
But what about Radcliffe and Emma Watson?
For his part, Daniel Radcliffe has confessed to The New York Times that “not really interested” to play Harry Potter again.
“This isn’t the answer anyone is going to want, but I think I was able to go back and enjoy it because it’s not part of my everyday life anymore. I’m getting to a point where I feel like I came out of ‘Potter’ It’s fine and I’m very happy with where I am now, and coming back would be a huge change in my life. I’m never going to say never, but the “star Wars guys were like 30, 40 years old before they came back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now.”
After an emotional meeting in Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts from HBO who saw Radcliffe, Grint and Emma Watson together again, the actress who played Hermione Granger, said in an interview with Vogue that “definitely” he would return to Hogwarts for another reunion 20 years from now.
So in case of planning a Harry Potter 9, the studio will have to first convince Radcliffe and Watson before proposing it to Grint or it is difficult for us to see them together again in an upcoming film in the franchise.
What do you think, would you like to see them together again in an adaptation of The Cursed Legacy?
