The first images have been published ‘The Power’, the series of Amazon Prime Video that, presumably, we will be able to see in March in our country, and that is starring Toni Collette (which also has ‘Mafia Mamma’ pending release), Alice Eve, John Leguizamo Y Auli’i Cravalho.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Naomi Alderman, the series with supernatural overtones see how teenagers around the world develop suddenly the ability to electrocute people at will, leading to the world’s balance of power being completely reversed. With this argument, it is not difficult to intuit that ‘The Power’ could become one of the best current series based on books and novels.
Following characters from London, Seattle, Nigeria and Eastern Europe, the series aims to not only tell the stories of how people are personally affected by this power, but how it affects the world as a whole.
Some specific plots from the novel seem faithfully adapted, as Collette and Cravalho play Margot and Jocelyn, characters from the novel.
It will be interesting to see the similarities and differences once we have a small preview of the series, which, in turn, will also star Toheeb Jimoh, Ria Zmitrowicz, Zrinka Cvitešić and the debutante Halle Bush.
Raelle Tuckerfrom ‘True Blood’, ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘Supernatural’, is the series director.
