The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) of Mexico City activated the yellow alert due to the low temperatures that will be registered during the early hours of Monday.
According to the forecast, there will be six municipalities hardest hit by the cold. In some, temperatures between 4 and 6 degrees are expected.
The lowest temperatures will be recorded between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this Monday.
The yellow alert was activated for the upper parts of the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, La Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, Tlalpan and Xochimilco.
To reduce the effects of low temperatures and protect the Health of the residents of these areas of the capital, the SGIRPC recommended that people who present some discomfort go to a nearby health center.
To prevent respiratory diseasesit was recommended to avoid sudden changes in temperature and to eat abundant amounts of water, fruits and vegetables high in vitamins A and C.
