Two fugitives from US justice are arrested in Sonora


The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the capture, in Puerto Peñasco, of two men of American origin, fugitives from justice in their country for various crimes.

The detainees are 42-year-old Vincent “N”, required by a Florida Judge for facing charges of sexual crimes.

Jeffery “N”, 56, who failed to comply with the terms of his probation for the crime of robbery, was also arrested.

Through a statement, the Sonoran prosecutor’s office confirmed that both people were apprehended and deported to their country.

He specified that 42-year-old Vincent Angelo “N” was serving a sentence for sexual crimes in a prison in Florida, but was released in 2021 due to an error by the authorities.

While Jeffery Christian “N”, 56 years old, failed to comply with the terms of his probation for the crime of robbery.

“Through a security device implemented by AMIC agents, in coordination with the INM, both Americans were transferred from Puerto Peñasco and deported through the Lukeville, Arizona Border Port.”

The seizure was carried out by elements of the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC), of the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office, with personnel from the National Institute of Migration (INM) and the Municipal Police of Puerto Peñasco, on January 27.
