A 79-year-old man, identified as Julio “N”, was detained by the Municipal Police in Tepic, after being accused of sexual assaults against two girls, his granddaughters, in La Alameda Park.
The first reports state that the man was discovered by a police officer who was conducting a surveillance tour of the site.
Noticing that the two girls were assaulted by the older adult, he managed to secure it and call reinforcements to transfer him to the competent authorities.
The girls were taken before their mother to file the corresponding complaint.
Data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System indicate that during 2022, through emergency calls, 59 allegations of sexual abuse were submitted.
In addition, there is a record of 1,448 emergency calls for violence against women.
