After 24 hours of being reported absent, the director of the Meridiano de Nayarit newspaper was located in Mexico City, confirmed his family, and the Nayarit and Mexico City prosecutors.
The journalist, psychologist and editor was found in the Historic Center of Mexico City, said the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office.
“We located the journalist Jorge Enrique González Castillo alive, who had been reported absent before @NayaritFiscalia. Agents of @PDI_FGJCDMX from the Prosecutor’s Office for the Search for Missing Persons located him in the streets of the Historic Center. More information soon.”
His daughter, Itzel González announced that Jorge Enrique will be evaluated by doctors to establish his state of health and they will later issue information.
“Thank you very much to all the people who helped us mobilize, who sent us a message and who have been looking out for our family. We cry with happiness. Thank God, life and the universe, my dad, Jorge Enrique, is back with us. They are evaluating it clinically. My family and I thank you infinitely for your attention.”
It is expected that in the next few hours after his restoration he will be able to return to Tepic.
Unofficial information indicates that he could have been the victim of an assault in which he was offered some substance, however confirmation from the authorities is awaited.
