This weekend there was a 90s convention at the Connecticut Convention Center, and among the many celebrities of the decade who have attended was the almost complete cast of ‘Charmed’, since Alyssa Milano could not go. But, despite her absence, the actress was happy about her meeting on her social networks.
Milano has published a photograph of her companions at the convention accompanied by the phrase “This makes me happy for the original ‘Charmed’ fans. What a treat!”. The actress has shown the good relationship that exists now among the protagonists despite all the problems that occurred at the time and that have subsequently been discovered.
One of the problems that the series experienced behind the scenes was the rivalry between two of its protagonists: Shannen Doherty and Milano. So bad was the relationship that the denouement was the abandonment of Doherty at the end of the third seasonthus opening the door for Rose McGowan to come to the series as a new sister.
Over the years Milano has admitted his part of the blame acknowledging that much of the tension between them could be due to her feeling that “I had to compete [con Doherty] instead of being able to live that brotherhood that had so much weight in the series”so he declared in his day to Entertainment Tonight, to which he added that given the cancer that Doherty was diagnosed with, they now had a “cordial” relationship and that he was concerned about his state of health.
Doherty, McGowan, Holly Marie Combs and Milano or also known as Prue, Paige, Piper and Phoebe, were the protagonists of the series where they played the Halliwell sisters, witches who had powers to fight against the forces of evil. The series that mixed fantasy and mystery, which was broadcast from 1998 to 2006 with a total of 8 seasons, served as inspiration to Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin and Jenny Snyder Urman, since, in 2018, they made a reboot of the original series. The idea did not end up liking the original actresses who qualified as “a lack of respect” towards them, and in the end the audience did not seem to fall in love either, since after 4 seasons The CW decided to cancel it.
