"Our patience is running out": Mayor of Cd. Juárez to migrants

On March 13, after a group that hundreds of migrants who tried to enter the United States by force through the border bridge that connects with Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, the mayor of the border town, the Morenista Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, said that the level of patience of the authorities is running out with the migrants.

“Our patience level is running out,” he said at a conference after the closure of the Santa Fe border bridge.

The mayor, who holds a weekly press conference, at the time said there is no justification for harming Juárez citizens and businesses, even pointing out that acts such as the closure even cause migrants to harm themselves.

“That was an action (the seizure of the bridge) that does not benefit anyone, neither the migrants, nor the people of Juárez and El Paso, nor the authorities of any level of government. It was an irrational and senseless act,” said the mayor.
