The new from Pixar is getting closer. ‘Elemental’ is the new animated film from the studio, which delves into a fantasy world where the inhabitants belong to one of the four elements: earth, air, fire and water. In the first trailer we met Nilo and Candela, he is a boy of water, she is a girl of fire. Do we know where this is going? In this new trailer, Pixar gives us more keys to this unlikely friendship that we will see exclusively on the big screen from June 16:
In this new trailer we get to know more about Candela, an obedient fire girl destined to inherit her father’s store in the city of fire, from which she has never left. When she meets Nilo, an affable water boy who slips down a pipe, The young woman will consider the rules to which she has been subject all her life and especially the one that governs the Element City: the elements do not mix. As diverse as there is in the city, the elements seem too different from each other to coexist beyond the precautionary distance.
In addition to Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Candela and Nilo respectively, in the original voice cast we find that Ronnie del Carmen and Shila Ommi play her parents, while Catherine O’Hara is his mother. On the other hand, Mason Wertheimer will lend his voice as Candela’s ground neighbor and Wendi McLendon-Covey will do so as Nilo’s air chief.
Peter Sohn, creator of ‘Arlo’s Journey’, is the director behind ‘Elemental’, a story he created with John Hoberg, Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh. In charge of the film’s soundtrack is Thomas Newman, the composer who has been nominated for an Oscar 15 times for animated movies like ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘WALL-E: Cleaning Squad’.
As a starter, an emotional short
‘Elemental’ will arrive exclusively in theaters on June 16 and will also be available in 3D format. But before the screening of the film, Pixar returns with its famous shorts: this time it will be ‘Carl’s Date’the animated short film that follows the main character of ‘Up’ as he prepares for his first date since the death of his wife Ellie, which promises to leave viewers with emotions on the surface.
