'El Ingeniero', alleged commander of the CJNG, is extradited to the United States

This Monday, the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) extradited to the United States Rubén “N”, alias “El Ingeniero”, alleged commander of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), claimed by a federal court in the South of California for various crimes.

On July 18, 2020, he was arrested for extradition purposes to face charges of criminal association, crimes against health, and money laundering in the neighboring country.

Since May 2013, the DEA had designated him as one of the main commanders of the criminal organization, under the command of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes “El Mencho” —leader of the group—, to traffic drugs to California, Illinois and New York from Colombia and Panama.

Elements of the Attorney General of the Republic handed over Rubén “N” at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to US agents.

“El Ingeniero” remained deprived of his liberty at the Federal Center for Social Readaptation Number 15, in the Villa de Comaltitlán Municipality, in Chiapas.
