Deadpool 2

Morena Baccarin, the actress who plays the character of Vanessa Carlysle in ‘Deadpool’ and its sequel, could appear in the new superhero moviewhich will premiere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

At the beginning of the second film we saw how Baccarin’s character was killed, but this does not mean that he cannot be in ‘Deadpool 3’. This is Marvel, after all, and death doesn’t have to mean a final end, especially not with the Multiverse. During an interview on the podcast ‘Inside Of You’ by Michael Rosenbaum, Baccarin has questioned his return to the saga, revealing that they have contacted her, but that nothing has been signed. “I have to be very diplomatic with my answer,” the actress begins. “I would love to be in it. I would love to participate, but for now, we have not reached any agreement. Everyone is trying and doing their best. It may come out or it may not. Don’t know”.

Vanessa’s death was used as a satirical nod to the ‘fridging‘, which is a narration method used by some scriptwriters that consists of kill a female character to boost the development of a male character. And even though she was a normal human in the movie, In the comics, her character is Copycat, a mutant with powers similar to those of Mystique. So this could be a thread to pull from that could benefit the MCU, should they decide to go that route.

Hand to hand

What the actress has confirmed is that since Marvel and Disney added ‘Deadpool’ to the MCU they are trying to “reinvent it a bit”, and she has advanced that “this movie is going to be much more about Wolverine and Deadpool”, and that “Hugh is going to be a big part of it”. Although we have already seen the Merc with a Mouth work as a team, this time we will see him hand in hand with Wolverine, whom we did not expect to see again in Jackman’s shoes after saying goodbye to the character in ‘Logan’ in 2017.
