Bribes to legislators to approve energy reform are proven: Defense of Lozoya

The bribery of legislators from the conservative bloc to approve the energy reform “is proven” and they are facts that derive from the complaint filed by the former director of Pemex, Emilio Lozoya Austinaffirmed their defense attorneys Alejandro Rojas Pruneda and Miguel Ontiveros Alonso.

Through a brief statement, the litigants defending Lozoya also revealed a letter addressed to the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Pablo Gómez Álvarez, in which they request an appointment to be able to sign the reparation agreements for the Odebrecht and Agronitrogenados cases.

This Friday, the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He declared in his morning conference that the approval of the energy reform in the six-year term of former President Enrique Peña Nieto was given through bribery to the legislators of the conservative bloc.

He added that the opposition parties were “cornfed” to vote in favor of the constitutional reform, in addition to pointing out that their statements “are proven” by the files of the Odebrecht Case that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) initiated through the complaint filed by Emilio Lozoya himself.

“In relation to the statements made today by the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador about the bribes that were delivered to legislators from the conservative bloc to approve the constitutional reform on energy matters, this defense coincides with the President of the Republic in the sense that It has been proven, as can be seen from the investigation folder”points out Lozoya’s defense.

On this point, the lawyers of the former director of Pemex stressed that López Obrador’s statements “are derived from the complaint -solid and effective- presented by Lozoya Austin before the Attorney General of the Republicwithin the framework of a criterion of opportunity.

Due to the foregoing, both lawyers reiterated their request to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) to give a prompt and timely response to the request they presented on April 3 so that the reparation agreements can be drawn up as regardss Odebrecht and Agronitrogenados cases”in order that “the damage requested by the authorities be fully repaired.”

“The signing of the agreements will allow Lozoya Austin to continue collaborating with the institutions of the Mexican State and that the people responsible for the facts answer before the justice system”, indicates the communication signed by the lawyers Rojas Pruneda and Ontiveros Alonso.
