It’s official! Jenna Ortega will star in ‘Beetlejuice 2’; this will be your role

Excellent news for fans of Jenna Ortega and “Beetlejuice”.

After various rumors, this Tuesday it was confirmed that Jenna Ortegathe actress of wednesdaywill star in “beetlejuice 2“revealed the magazine Variety.

The 20-year-old will play the daughter of Lydia Deetzrole played in the 1988 film by Winona Ryder.

The tape will include the return of Beetlejuice and the beloved Lydia Deetz, who will once again be characterized by Michael Keaton and Winona Ryderrespectively.

Justin Theroux was also confirmed as part of the cast.

Production is expected to begin in London on May 10.

The original story tells that after the death of the marriage of Barbara and Adam (played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) they get angry when a new family of Deetz: Charles, a successful businessman; his wife Delia, an eccentric sculptor; and her daughter Lydia Deetz, a somber young woman who despises her father and her stepmother, move into her house.

Adam and Barbara, now as ghosts, ask for help from “Beetlejuice”, who promises to help them torment the new inhabitants of the house.

“Beetlejuice” was a hit, grossing $74.7 million and inspiring a Tony-nominated musical.

After four years on the bill, interrupted by the pandemic, the show closed its doors on Broadway in January, according to Variety.

‘Beetlejuice 2’ will be released on September 6, 2024.

Now, Warner Bros. announced that “Beetlejuice 2” will be released on the same day that Marvel plans to launch “Blade”, a superhero movie based on the character that bears the same name and will be played by Mahershala Ali (“Green Book” ).

In fact, the date chosen is not accidental, since it corresponds to the day after the Labor Day holiday in the United States, a moment that large studios usually take advantage of to launch the productions in which they have the highest commercial expectations.

Plan B Entertainment, a production company co-founded by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, will handle production duties, while Mike Vukadinovich will write the script.
