Tom Holland is one of the actors in charge of giving life to one of the main members of ‘The Avengers’: the young Peter Parker, also known as ‘Spider-Man’. Throughout several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we have seen Holland get into the skin of the teenage superhero. However, speaking of his favorite spider-man movies, the interpreter stated that none of the ones he stars in is number one.
In fact, his choice leans towards animation. Last week, talking to Associated Press, the actor claimed that ‘Spider-Man: A New Universe’ was his favorite film, above all.
The story of Miles Morales, which has just released its sequel, ‘Spider-Man: Crossing the Multiverse’, is also one of the most praised by the public. In fact, the second part of it has achieved an impressive collection in its first weekend of release, crossing 100 million dollars (only in the United States).
“I think the first movie of the ‘spiderverse‘ is the best ‘Spider-Man’ movie ever made,” commented Holland, introducing his new Apple TV+ series, ‘The Crowded Room’. “I’m so proud of everyone who’s been involved. Amy Pascal [productora] is like my mother. I was going to go with her to the premiereas his companion, but I couldn’t because I was here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them, and very excited about the second one. I’m sure she will exceed all expectations, I can’t wait to see her.”
The animated sequel has been met with a flurry of positive reactions. Currently, ‘Crossing the Multiverse’ has a score of 96% from the audience, and 95% from the critics, in Rotten Tomatoes.
In addition to this, Tom Holland also took the opportunity to talk about the process that ‘Spider-man 4’ is following, his next solo debut within the UCM.
“We have had meetings” he commented. However, all the negotiations and the development of the film have been stopped in solidarity with the North American union’s writers’ strike.
“I can’t talk about it, but I can say that there have been meetings. We have paused them in engagement with the writers. Right now, we’re still at a very, very early stage.”
Like the actor Amy Pascalproducer, spoke with Variety about ‘Spider-man 4’ and commented:
“Will we make another movie? Of course. We’re on that. But, with the strike, nobody is working. We are going to support them and, when everything is over, we will begin.”
If you haven’t seen either of the two ‘Spider-Man’ animated movies yet, you can enjoy Holland’s favorite ‘A New Universe’ at streaming in the Netflix movie catalog.
