A new poster for Manifest season 3 promises answers to its central mystery, all while sinisterly promoting last season’s finale.
The first poster of Manifest Season 3 promises answers to its central mystery, all while sinisterly exaggerating last season’s finale. NBC’s supernatural series first premiered in 2018 and featured a compelling premise: An airliner experiences some extreme turbulence on the way from Jamaica to New York, and when it lands, those on board learn that they have been considered missing for five years. Hailed by many as new to television Lost, manifest began to unravel the mystery behind Montenegro Air Flight 828, particularly when returning passengers began hearing strange voices (nicknamed “Calls”) and seeing visions.

Manifest Season 2 came to an end in April 2020, and due to the coronavirus pandemic, the wait for Season 3 has been a bit longer than expected. For fans, this is particularly frustrating due to where the ending left off. After seemingly clearing up an issue regarding passenger 828’s “death dates” when Zeke (Matt Long) survived beyond his time, Manifest dropped a major bomb: the tail fin of Flight 828 has been recovered from the ocean floor, as if the plane actually crashed five years ago.
It’s another thorny mystery for Manifest, and one that promises to give some answers in season 3. In a poster released exclusively for Screen Rant, the tailfin takes center stage on a background of water. That image, along with the eye-catching slogan “The truth will surface, “confirms that the stubborn tail fin is very, very important. Manifest Showrunner Jeff Rake had this to say about Season 3:
Literally from the foreground of Season 3, we’ll see how Tailfin draws our heroes even deeper into the mystery of Flight 828. From the outside, there’s Ben, who will stop at nothing to decipher this all-important clue. From the inside, there’s Vance, who, as head of the NSA investigation, is unwilling to let a lone wolf like Ben outsmart the government. And then there’s Saanvi, whose holistic scientific approach will put her squarely in the middle of this battle.
Also, the official synopsis of Manifest promises of season 3 “the answer to the show’s biggest mystery: what happened to the passengers on flight 828?“Somehow, the tailfin is connected to the strange new existence of the passengers, and season 3 might finally rebuild that. A common criticism that was often thrown at Lost it was that he had too many questions and few answers. Manifest It looks like he’s going to sidestep that by finally bringing some resolution to the central mystery that started the series.
The appearance of the rear wing puts a lot in doubt, particularly when it comes to the survivability of the passengers. There are already some who do not believe that the passengers of Flight 828 are who they say they are, and the implication that the plane itself actually sank casts serious doubt on its history. This is going to really complicate things for those like Ben (Josh Dallas) and Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh). Hopefully, they (and by extension, the audience) will get some big answers soon. Manifest Season 3 might have been slower than expected, but it looks like once it starts, it’s going to be a wild ride. Viewers will have to tune in to see how it all unfolds.
