In Always and ForeverPeter tells Lara Jean that his father came over for dinner together, but he hasn’t responded because he’s not sure he wants to see him again. So Peter’s dad sees him and LJ at the bowling alley when the two of them are on a date, and things get really awkward, really fast. Peter’s father mistakes Lara Jean’s name for Laura, asks Peter about having dinner, references a steakhouse they apparently frequented when Peter was a child, and then asks if the young couple want to go bowling with him and his family, a family that Peter is not and has not been a part of since his father left many years ago.
