The full trailer arrives on Valentine’s Day because HBO Max loves you.

Darkseid in Zack Snyder's Justice League

Now we have another teaser teaser for the next one. Zack Snyder’s Justice League, a 4.5-hour movie that will launch on HBO Max next month. It’s unclear how much the remake will differ from the 2017 version, though given its length and expectations, people should expect a drastically different movie than what was originally released a few years ago.

One of those key differences this trailer shows: Darkseid. Darkseid was basically meant to be the great evil of Snyder’s vision to the DCEU, a threat so great that it had to be foreshadowed by Steppenwolf, as well as the “Knightmare” sequence from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I guess the closest corollary would be Thanos, an intergalactic destroyer of worlds who is also CGI. That said, Marvel had a ton of stinger scenes to set up for Thanos and still needed to give him center stage in Avengers: Infinity War to make him into a compelling character, and I’m curious how much time will go into making us care about Darkseid and his motivations.

Of course, for some, none of that really matters. It’s funny that this superhero movie has drawn such clear battle lines with ardent fans arguing that anyone who dares to criticize this movie has an agenda against them and at the same time makes the film essentially critic-proof; those who have decided to love it will do so no matter what because they wanted the movie to exist. For my part, I’m very curious to see what Snyder’s original vision was, or at least one League of Justice which has a vision as opposed to the 2017 version that the studio hacked and does not feel written by anyone.

Check out the trailer trailer below and check back on Sunday for the full trailer. Zack Snyder’s Justice League arrives March 18 on HBO Max.

Kevin Feige is reportedly opposed to a ‘Black Widow’ hybrid release, but will Disney do otherwise?

The study reportedly has 3-4 weeks to decide what to do.
